Overview

EcoSTEAM Development is an Erasmus+ project focusing and aiming at boosting STEAM education with environmental awareness and sustainability among secondary school students. Using and offering innovative teaching methods, it creates engagement and interest in scientific topics, and helps students develop scientific citizenship and future employability in STEAM fields. All its work can be found in the website and it offers activity plans for five different topics that are divided into more subtopics and scientific approaches.

Aim

The EcoSTEAM is a project focusing on empowering educators and students to integrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education with environmental awareness, developing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. By developing ecological literacy and promoting sustainable practices, the project equips young individuals with the knowledge and competencies necessary to address environmental challenges and succeed in future STEAM-related careers. The program suggests the importance of experiential learning and ecological responsibility, contributing to students’ personal, academic, and professional growth.

Objectives

Objective 1
Develop a comprehensive set of resources and tools to promote awareness and support structures for the integration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) education with ecological literacy.
Objective 2
Heighten students’ eco-awareness and STEAM knowledge, empowering them to act responsibly towards environmental challenges through hands-on, innovative learning methods.
Objective 3
Enable educators to provide STEAM-based, eco-conscious education by equipping them with tools, methodologies, and training for integrating ecology into various subjects.
Objective 4
Stimulate interdisciplinary, eco-informed education to encourage students’ creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, specifically addressing environmental sustainability through STEAM approaches.
